On December 13, 2023, researchers published a groundbreaking study on the hormonal link to maternal risk of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy (NVP) including the most severe form, Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). Pregnancy complications exist around the world. The UK's National Health Service (NHS) notes on its HG information page: "Bear in mind that HG is much worse than regular pregnancy sickness. It is not the result of anything you have or have not done, and you do need treatment and support."
